FUN WAYS OF CELEBRATING VALENTINES DAY WITH YOUR KIDS

Love is meant to be shown everyday but valentine day is an opportunity for a child to love and be loved.

I have thought about some ideas to make it memorable for kids. Feel free to add more.

1. A trip to a nursing or motherless babies home : Take your kids on a trip to a nursing or motherless babies home and make them present some gifts to the children and teach them the importance of loving their parents and other children.

2. Exchange of gifts: Let there be an exchange of gifts among your children. help them to discreetly get a gift of their choice, then choose a day for the exchange of the  gifts.

3. Help your child make a heart themed cupcakes for  their teachers with a note that thanks them for loving them all year long.
4. . Pick a verse on love and work with your child to memorize it for the month of February. A few of my favorites on the subject of love are: “ Love One Another” John 15:17, “ Love is patient, love is kind… ” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, and “ Love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. ’ Luke 10:27.
5. Hide and seek game: Hide some notes with instructions and gifts in them. Ask them to search for the notes either in the sitting room or in their rooms. When they find the cards, let them follow the instructions on the notes. It could be something like help your baby wash her clothes.
6. At dinner, let your kids practice how to show appreciation to every member of the family. like:
"I appreciate David  for helping me with my homework....I appreciate Mom for spending special time with me at bedtime....I appreciate Dad for always being cheerful....I appreciate myself for getting out of the house on time in the morning."
